Nu Sensuelle Vibe Review: Fun with Tappers and Rollers (2025)

Nu Sensuelle Product Review: Calypso, Vivi & Rhapsody vibes

Nu Sensuelle makes some intriguing body safe sex toys, and I sampled a few of their 2024 releases: the Calypso (flexible roller vibe), Rhapsody (tapping vibe), and Vivi (double tapping vibe). If you’re interested in an insertable vibrator with extra stimulation options, you may wanna take a look at these!

Unboxing & Inspection

All three vibes came in a sturdy box with a flip lid and magnetic closure. All three are made with body-safe silicone and are fully waterproof (submersible). The Calypso and Rhapsody both have a 2-button interface, where the power button also controls the main vibe settings for the toy. The Vivi has a dedicated power button and then two separate buttons for controlling the vibrations and tapping modes. The distinguishing features of each are:

Calypso: Flexible vibrator with roller action in the tip
Vivi: Non-flexible vibrator with two different tapping spots
Rhapsody: Non-flexible vibrator with a looped handle and one tapping spot on its tip

Included Documentation

All three Nu Sensuelle vibes each have individual user manuals. They’re all fully waterproof (submersible) and can run for up to 2 hours on a single charge (3 hours for a full charge).

Nu Sensuelle also provides a 2-year warranty on its products. The industry standard tends to be 1 year, but this is changing quickly, and some manufacturers are now offering longer terms and extended warranty policies. Love to see a brand willing to stand behind its product!

Using the Calypso

The Calypso is flexible! The roller action in its tip is a pretty strong mechanism, and I couldn’t easily resist it when I tried gently pressing on it with my thumb. What I love about the Calypso, and really all three of these, is that you can use the extra stimulating features externally to warm up (or just continue that way), and then you can use them as insertable vibes.

While inserted (even pretty deeply), you can bend the upper part of the vibe toward your labia and clit and enjoy the vibrations of the flexible upper shaft. That feels great. The roller has 3 speeds and 4 patterns controlled by the button with the lightning icon. Personally, I most enjoy the lower rolling speeds and the pattern #3, which is medium rolling speed with a brief pause in between.

In terms of noise, the Calypso is quietest. Running at its loudest setting, it measured about 34.5 dB when touching skin and 40 dB when not in contact with skin. Its roller tip doesn’t make much of a ruckus and makes more of a hinging sound as the roller ball circles clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on the pattern you’re using. It feels somehow kinda organic and lifelike, just encircling my clit like a tongue or finger.

Using the Vivi

The Vivi has two tapping spots: one at the tip and one about 1.5″ from the tip of the vibe. The Vivi isn’t flexible, so you can use leverage to drag the tapping tip over your clit and labia or over your g-spot. I like using the Vivi externally or just for shallow penetration. Once inserted to a comfortable depth, I think it feels amazing to slowly drag it out, stopping when the tapper at the tip of the vibe is barely inserted, so the upper tapper is positioned on your clit. It’s like a gentle, fleshy thumping; it feels soo nice!

The tappers are more sensitive than the singular tapper on the Rhapsody. I’ve been practicing my kegel exercises, and I can sometimes grip really hard. I did notice that the tapping slowed and briefly stopped when I was clenching those muscles tightly a few times, hah! Sometimes I surprise myself…

One downside to the Vivi is that its tapping is somewhat noisy, like 45 dB when not in contact with your skin and ~36 dB when touching skin. I say it a few times in this review, but I recommend starting the tappers after the Vivi’s touching your skin, inserted, and/or muffle the sound with a fluffy blanket if you need to be discreet.

Using the Rhapsody

Because things can get slick quickly, I really appreciate the looped handle on the Rhapsody. When I first started playing with it, I held it just below the loop with my thumb placed through it, and using the tapper for some wand-like action, stimulating my clit and labia before insertion.

The gentle curve of its shaft and shape of its tip are both helpful in finding and stimulating your g-spot. Because it isn’t bendy, you have extra leverage to explore small movements and experiment with pressure and angles to get exactly what you need out of it.

I thought its tapper to be pretty strong yet noisy (as with the Vivi), so if noise is a concern, start the tapping after you’ve inserted the tip, or use it under a thick blanket. See the chart below for some helpful comparisons.

These all come with satin drawstring storage bags. Silicone attracts so much dust and lint when left out. Plus, who doesn’t love a discreet way to store private things!

Charging: These vibes were all charged out of the box, and they can run for up to 2 hours on a charge. Their lights flash while charging and stop when fully charged (3 hours for a full charge).

Final Thoughts on the Nu Sensuelle Vibes

These are fun, slightly cheaper options for anyone interested in trying non-air pulse, non-sucking clit stimulation and internal vibe optionality all rolled into a single toy. I love that Nu Sensuelle offers a 2-year warranty as opposed to the industry standard of ~1 year.

Major pros: Their buttons are responsive, and they’re made with silky smooth silicone and fully waterproof. They’re easy to operate with some simple preset patterns for vibes and tapper/roller controls.
As for cons, the tappers on Rhapsody and Vivi are strong and effective but loud when not in contact with skin. If noise is a concern, start the tapping after you’ve got them inserted or use under a comforter or thicker blanket to muffle the sound. Also, no app compatibility.
