Generally, prostate massagers provide two significant benefits: pleasure from prostate orgasms or Super-Os and strengthened pelvic floor and sphincter muscles (improving function and sexual performance). Aneros is highly regarded for its unique design that “self-pivots” during use. Our top selling Aneros prostate massagers are the Helix Syn V, Helix Syn Trident, Progasm, PSY, and Eupho Syn. Since each model has a slightly different shape, we’ll outline the features of each Aneros product that we carry and how their designs may benefit you.
(Check out the Aneros wiki for even more Aneros-specific information.)
Aneros prostate massagers are designed with a taper toward their base and a slight curvature toward the prostate. Depending on the model, there are variations in the ribs or curvature of the shaft. Aneros products also have a tab in the perineum area, which stimulates the pudendal nerve, and a separate tab in the Kundalini spot (toward back of body, below your tailbone and between your butt cheeks). The gentle pressure of these tabs activates sensations in those areas to complement and enhance prostate stimulation.
Prostate play can be a solo or partnered activity, but since prostate massaging with the goal of a Super-O can take several weeks (or can be even more of an extended journey for some), beginners may need to practice solo to relax and get a sense for how to control their muscles without feeling rushed or pressured to perform.
The Line Up
How Do I Use an Aneros Prostate Massager?
- Start Aroused and Relaxed: Start your session aroused, whether mentally, physically, or both (but stay away from penile stimulation to avoid over stimulating yourself.)
It’s also important to start your sessions in a relaxed state and position. Allow your mind to be clear and quiet and try consciously relaxing all muscles in your body through measured breathing techniques or meditation. For positioning, Aneros recommends laying on your right side with your left knee pulled up toward your waist with hips cocked so your butt is accessible. - Lubrication and Insertion: Apply lube to yourself (you can use a product with a pre-filled applicator, a rectal syringe or your finger) and to your toy. Insert the tip gently with the curve of the prostate massager facing toward the front of your body. After taking in the head, you can gently contract your sphincter muscles several times to urge the toy in (don’t just push it in).
Like other anal plugs and toys, the taper of the massager head will ease insertion, and the taper at the base of the massager helps your sphincter muscles relax and allow the massager to remain in place. Once it’s in, you might need to adjust your position or the angle/position of the massager for a comfortable fit. You can do this by contracting and relaxing your pelvic floor and sphincter muscles. - Relaxation: The cool part: Aneros products are designed to “self-pivot” as you relax and contract your muscles, stimulating the prostate internally while also stimulating externally from the gentle pressure of the outer tabs. Depending on the model you’ve got, you may be able to adjust the flexible p-tab and k-tab to alter the angle of the massager while enhancing the pressure or contact with the perineum or Kundalini spot. (Note: the Syn V and Progasm line have rigid tabs.)
- Stimulation: After taking time (maybe 10-20 minutes) to acclimate to the position and sensation of an inserted prostate massager, you may begin to notice involuntary anal twitching. You can respond to this by practicing gentle anal contractions or alternating with rectal contractions. This culminates in an experience of gradually building waves of tingling and surging sensation to the prostate, perineum, anus, and rectum. The Aneros wiki suggests several ways to practice these contractions, as well as some alternatives. Your sessions may last an hour or more.
- Additional Tips:
- Abstain from ejaculation for about 24 hours prior to your session and allow a day or so between sessions.
- Avoid penile stimulation during prostate play.
- Focus on physical and mental relaxation.

Helix Syn Trident
The Helix Syn Trident is silicone-coated so it has a soft, velvety feel. Aneros recommends it for both new and experienced users. It has an angled head for more focused stimulation. Its slightly flexible tabs allow you to adjust level of insertion, and it has an angled head for making easier contact with the prostate.
Aneros Helix Syn Trident at a Glance:
Insertable length: 3.6″
Widest width: .92″
Recommended for all users.
Eupho Syn Trident
The Eupho Syn Trident massager is silicone-coated and also has slightly flexible arms and a slimmer profile for easy insertion. Like other Aneros products, once inserted, the Eupho Syn’s angled head reaches toward your prostate and is easily adjusted by shifting the massager gently or by practicing anal Kegel exercises. Its head is slightly more rounded.

Insertable length: 3.8″
Widest width: .8″
Recommended for new users due to its slimmer profile but also suitable for experienced users.
Helix Syn V
The Helix Syn V is one of Aneros’ vibrating massagers, adding an intensity and versatility to the experience. It’s medium-sized, and its shape is nearly identical to the Helix Trident (although it slightly larger) with slight angle and double bulged head. Its arms are rigid. The Helix Syn V has nearly 3 hours of run time on a single charge and has 8 patterns and 3 speeds.
Aneros Helix Syn V at a Glance:
Insertable length: 3.6″
Widest width: .92″
Suitable for all users. Vibrates with 8 patterns and 3 speeds.
Progasm
The Aneros Progasm series is recommended for folks who are already experienced with anal and/or prostate play. It’s firm and larger in size, amplifying sensations of fullness once inserted. Its angled head is pretty pronounced too, so it provides more intense stimulation than some of the other more gradually curved massagers. If you like the concept of more focused stimulation, but the size is intimidating, check out the Progasm Jr.
The Progasm has rounded balls on both ends of the rigid external tabs. The rigid tabs can add more focused pressure to the perineum and the Kundalini area as opposed to models with flexible tabs.
Aneros Progasm at a Glance:
Insertable length: 4″
Widest width: 1.28″
Recommended for intermediate and experienced users.
Aneros PSY
The Aneros PSY is a newer release, and its ribbed shaft and contoured head is designed for stronger stimulation. Though its tabs are slightly flexible for adjustment, it’s geared toward more intense sensation, so it’s best for people who have experience with anal and prostate play.
Aneros PSY at a Glance:
Insertable length: 3.25″
Widest width: .95″
Recommended for intermediate and experienced users.
Recommendations Based on Experience Level
Here’s a short and sweet overview of recommended Aneros prostate massagers for beginners to experienced users. Even if you’re browsing anal toys or prostate massagers from other brands, it may be helpful to focus on the recommended shape and curvature for your skill level.
Beginners: Look for a narrow, slim body with subtle head curvature for high responsiveness and gentle to moderate stimulation: Eupho Syn Trident, MGX Syn Trident
Bold beginners: Look for a small to medium sized body with subtle angle and gentle to moderate responsiveness to muscle contractions: Progasm Jr, Helix Syn V (vibrates), PSY
Intermediate: May venture out to try a larger angled head and thicker stem for enhanced responsiveness and more focused, stronger stimulation: Helix Syn V (vibrates), PSY, Progasm
Experienced: Experiment with a larger body and angled head for fuller anal, rectal and prostate stimulation, possibly adding vibrations: Vice 2 (vibrates), Helix Syn V (vibrates), PSY, Progasm
