Product Review: Iroha Temari Vibrator

I previously reviewed a few Iroha vibrators (Iroha is produced by Tenga), and it feels right to give the Temari vibrator its own little spotlight! If you like the broader head of a wand but find the long handle too unwieldy, consider the Temari! It’s a squat little toy with a domed head peeking up out of a plastic housing. It comes with a domed lid to protect that lil vibrating orb. Sitting on your bedside table, you’d never suspect it to be a pleasure device!

Unboxing & Inspection

The Iroha Temari comes in a small, minimalist little box with a tasteful branding and product image on the front. It comes in 3 different patterns/prints; shown here is the Kaze. I chose it for the little colorful, almost retro shapes decorating the dome.

The charging cable is specific to the Temari series; it’s a magnetic USB cable. The lid of the Temari is satisfying to put on; it doesn’t click/snap on but gently falls into place, almost feels like it’s air sealed or something. Hard to explain without having your hands on it! When the lid is on, the Temari just looks like an innocent, cute little thing. (Pick it up by its base or the lid will slip off.)

Looking closely at the Temari, the vibrating head is coated with a frosted, transparent silicone with the pretty pattern visible underneath. The plastic case surrounding the domed head has a smooth but nearly matte texture, and the large, single button interface is on the bottom.

Hold the button down for three seconds to power on or off. Simply press the button to change modes; which are simple: 1-4 regular vibration modes plus a slow and quick pulse mode, a total of 6!

When charging, the Temari lights up a pleasant blue and turns off when fully charged. 120 mins of charge gives you 90 mins of run time at full power. The Temari has a 1-year warranty (must keep the user manual).

Included Documentation

The documentation covers how to use, charge, clean, and claim warranty for the Temari.

*The user manual states that you must show proof of the original user manual in order to proceed with a warranty claim.

My Experience Using the Iroha Temari

I started out slow with the Temari. It wasn’t until I began using it that I realized the Temari could fulfill the purpose of a wand when you don’t want to bother with a big ole handle. It’s surprisingly rumbly. It’s also a good travel toy; it doesn’t take up much room, and it’s versatile in that it’s also waterproof!

I first used the Temari in the shower. (I can easily relax in the shower after a long day, and what better way to unwind than to take a new lil toy for a spin?!) After some experimentation, my favorite way to use the Temari is to hump or grind on it while lying face down. I sometimes think about doing that with a wand anyway, but the handle on the Magic Wands (my usual go-to wands) kinda get in the way unless you feel like getting creative. With the Temari, the setup is natural and easy; no handle to manage – and you’re off!

I like using the lower rumbly vibe settings because they feel best to me for grinding. I’ll switch to the slow pulse mode if I’m doing more rhythmic movements with my body, and getting the timing just right feels really nice. As you go up to higher the vibe settings (numbers 3 and 4), the Temari gets buzzier. I was pretty pleased to find that the vibration of the orb that comes in contact with my body doesn’t really transfer to my hands. I’m guessing this is because of the way the base is attached to the dome/orb. It successfully tempers much of the vibration for the user’s hands.

There is a small, recessed area where the silicone part of the dome and the plastic base meet. You’ll need to make sure you clean in this space, especially if you use it in a wet environment… things will generally get slippery during use, anyway! You can use a dedicated toothbrush to gently clean that little recessed area or wipe it clean with a cloth. The Temari is pretty easy to clean overall; just wash with mild soap and water (not hot water, as the instructions emphasize) and wipe with a clean cloth.

Final Thoughts

I’ve decided that the Temari is my tiny wand stand-in. I love the shape and diameter of the head paired with the stubby base that allows me to get the most out of this toy when I’m feeling lazy and just want to grind on something small but strong. Plus, I can’t deny how cute it is – I almost want it to be seen on my bedside table, hah!
